Wilderness Lodge…

 a vacation rental
tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains,
near the historic and quaint town of Hot Springs North Carolina

Wilderness Lodge

Side view of log home- summer

Secluded in 200 acres of wooded privacy this log home has been a popular vacation rental for many years.
We have many guests who have been here several times because…they love it here!
You won’t find another vacation rental in the area with this much acreage… the ultimate in privacy!
In the words of country musician Dwight Yoakam… you’ll feel like you’re “a thousand miles from nowhere”.
Yet, you’ll find the town of Hot Springs (pop. 600+-) just 13 miles away. You’ll find a slow pace there, too!

In this forest-like setting, there is an absence of traffic, noise, and street lights. No thru road or other homes in view from Wilderness Lodge.

In the words of the owner- Wilderness Lodge

“is not a Disneyworld or city experience…
this is the wilderness.”

THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE… only interrupted by the sounds of the

stream that flows through the property, birds chirping,

maybe tapping of rain on the metal roof!

Visitors here are tiny hummingbirds (seasonally visiting our feeders) to larger sized red tail hawks,  turkeys… you may even see deer or a bear!

If you’re wandering on the trail through the property you may want to explore the small cave.

The Appalachian Trail passes

through the town of Hot Springs

by bridge across the French Broad River

Asheville is 30 miles away, and offers many options to experience
more mountain culture, diverse cuisine, and craft breweries.

The closest airport is also located in Asheville.

A day in the mountains is better than a week in the city

*If you check in the same day another guests check out the hot tub won’t be hot until the next day. Unless a guests informs us they haven’t used the tub, and our inspection appears to confirm that, it will be drained after each guest checks out. Due to the temperature of the well water, and the heater it takes many hours to heat back up to a comfortable temperature.
